I had a great time going to garage sales this morning. I find that Friday mornings are the best time because most garage sales have just opened- meaning more to pick from AND the traffic isn't typically as bad as a Saturday morning when almost everyone is off of work.
Here are some of my treasures:
I scored this shelf for $2. The lady said it would be nice spray painted since it's getting a little rusty. If I had a deck, I think I'd put little terracotta pots and display it outside. But since I do not have a deck, I'm thinking about putting it on top of my kitchen cabinets with some hodge-podgy items. :) Your thoughts?
I have a thing for fruit bowls/pedestals. When I saw this one for $3 I thought, "Hmm, that's a little high." So I flipped it over and saw...... (see below)
This!! Then I was giddy with delight and proudly handed over my $3. Isn't it funny how a name brand will make you do that??
I think I paid $2 and $1 for these frames. They are in mint condition and I can always use another picture frame!! :) I've been slowly purging all my multi-colored or bright colored "high school" and "college era" frames... sounds like a season of Saved By the Bell.
Mr. Jackson spent 2 hours of garage sale bliss being a good boy for his mommy. Because I love him sooo much, and this was only $1, I threw it in the back of the PT. See that black crayon mark on the front? Nothing that 1/2 Magic Eraser and a few minutes of elbow grease couldn't get rid of!
So that's what I found today! Have you found any treasures recently? The Historic District in Newark is having a community sale tomorrow. It's going to take all my willpower not to go!
