I need a break from all the intense, serious posts- let's lighten it up a little bit.
I love love love shopping with coupons. Because of this, most of the time you can not be brand specific. I buy whatever is on sale when it's on sale. However, there are some items that I have to buy the name brand. Generics or off brands will just not do for me. Here are some of my favorites.
Oh Cheerios- how I love thee. When I was an exchange student in 2000, Australia did not yet have Cheerios. My mom and dad spent about $20 a week mailing me a box. A girl has gotta have her Cheerios. ;) I am thankful that there are always good coupons and deals on Cheerios- on Monday I got 4 medium sized boxes for $3.56 total after coupons, store discounts and a gift card promotion! Woohoo!
Who doesn't like some creamy peanut butter? Sorry, folks, but it has to be JIF. Peter Pan ain't got nothing on this bad boy!
I have tried sooo hard to buy a generic cracker. Really, I have. But I was raised on Ritz and nothing compares. Don't give me the low fat ones or the wheat ones, oh no... And actually, the best thing you can do is spread a little JIF on these babies and make me a peanut butter cracker sandwich. Yum!
I love Earth's Best products. Their organic baby cereal can not be beat. Gerber is now making an organic product and the rice or oatmeal is organic, but they add so many preservatives (which to me negates the organic part). Prices are comparable so it's really a no-brainer.
Tastefully Simple's Fiesta Party Dip Mix is nothing short of amazing. Brian and I are addicted. Fo' real. I don't want to try any of that cheapo, ghetto taco-style seasoning. Oh no- give me fiesta- it's like a little fiesta in our house every time we make it! Ha.
I bought this little Garnier brusher facewash at Target because I had a Target coupon and manufacturer coupon which made it only 49 cents. Best 49 cents I ever spent (seriously). This is God's gift to my pores. It's gentle, doesn't smell weird, and leaves my face soft as a baby's bottom. I just got another coupon for it and I'm full of joy!
So there are some of my favorite (name brand) products. What can you not substitute a generic for? Is there anything for which you'll spend more money to get exactly what you want?
(I did not get paid to review or recommend any of these products- although if you want to send me a year supply of Cheerios or 20 diapers for my baby's bum, I will kiss your feet...just a thought.) ;)

Found a blog that reminds me of your Mom's home. Thought you might want to follow or send stuff to your Mom. The Polohouse.blogspot.com
