We're headed to the beach in a few weeks and before we go I wanted to make sure I have plenty of books to read. Honestly, I don't know how I'm going to read these books in a matter of 7 days while watching a small child near a gigantic body of water, so I decided that I would call this my late summer/early fall/hopefully by the end of October book list.
I would never say I'm inspired by Barack Obama. I'm actually more inspired by watching the neighborhood squirrels frolic around, but he did recently put out a Summer Reading Guide for his vacation in Martha's Vineyard (that could be a whole other blog subject). Anyhow, pundits on the morning news said he would have to average 700 pages a day to finish his list in five days. So not wanting to be as silly hopeful as Mr. B.O., I'm giving myself more time. (All of my Democrat friends have just hit "unsubscribe!")
You can also check me out on Goodreads. I love being able to mark books as "to-read" and also noting when I've finished them. I plan on going back to this list to see how many books I ended up reading in 2011. I started out the year well but have lagged off a lot since the spring.
Leah's Late Summer/Vacation/Fall Reading List
Talkers, Watchers, and Doers by Cheri Fuller
The War Against Boys: How Misguided Feminism is Harming Our Young Men by Christina Hoff Sommers
The Associate by John Grisham
Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America from Washington by Rick Perry
(Note: I'm not really a Rick Perry fan, but wanted to see what his vision is)
I'm also currently finishing up: Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp which is a great book about Biblical discipline.
That's all, folks! Any books you think I should add to the list? I tend to be a non-fiction reader, but I would like to start the Harry Potter series. Any other recommendations?
